Goats and Bunnies |
In 2005 we took some of our Miniature Horses to the Arizona State Fair, for our club's booth there to showcase the minis. We were next to the barn where there were goats being shown, and we speant a lot of time in there learning about the goats. We fell in love with the Nigerian Dwarf breed, and couldn't go home without one! We currently have 5 wethers and 1 doe whom we adore. A wether is a nuetered male goat, and they make excellent pets! We also now have a 2nd generation miniature oberhasli doe (girl) and a pygmy wether. Goats act like dogs in that they're playful, trainable, and love attention. We are currently looking for a dalmation colored ND doe or wether and a red mini nubian with the nubian ears to enjoy our home. We hope you enjoy learning about our goats as much as we love showing them off :) |
Twix |
Reeces |
Butterscotch |
Raisinette |
Twix was our first goat. He was born in 2005. He LOVES attention, and comes running when he hears the word "cookie" Cookies are his favorite treat! He will even walk on his hind legs to get one! He has a slight limp due to a healed injury to a front foreleg, but that sure doesn't hinder him any! He can run and jump with the best of them! |
Reeces was our second goat, we got him as a companion for Twix. He was born in 2005. His breeder has shown him, and he did quite well, earning Grand Champion Wether twice! Like Twix, he loves attention and will come running at the mention of a cookie :) |
Butterscotch was born 2006. When we got him at about 4-6 months old, he was very skittish. If you went anywhere near him he'd run away. It wasn't long before kind patience and cookies won him over! He'll still occasionally move away if you go towards him, but if you're around him, he'll come over on his own, and will even climb in your lap to get a cookie! |
Raisin was born 2006. Not only is he the first bottle baby we've had, but we got to bottle feed him! He came home at only 5 weeks old. I just LOVED to bottle feed him, he's sooo cute and sweet :) Most of the time I'd bring him in the house with me for his bottle, and we'd sit together with all the kitties surrounding us, hoping they could have a turn at the bottle :) Raisin follows me everywhere, and I've been known to take him for walks (no leash necessary) and to Petsmart :) |
In 2007 we were introduced to bunny ownership. Our friend from work had babies, and she brought some to work. I fell in love, and Freckle came home! He is a mini rex. Rexes have very soft fur, they feel like velvet. Freckle is very curious and loves attention! He is our buck to breed mini plush lops. Those are buns with the soft rex fur, but lopped ears. His first litter of first generation kits were born 1/22/08, and we are going to retain a female. If you are interested in a baby bun, let us know! |
Butterfly is a Japanese Harlequin (color) mini lop (breed). Buttefly is a sweetie who likes to see what's going on. She is a great mother and has beautiful babies. She had her first litter (with Freckle) of 1st gen mini plush lops in Jan 08, and we have retained one of her girls. |
Freckle |

Skittles |
Jelly Bean |
In 2007 I saw photos of Skittles on a goat forum, and I knew I just HAD to have him! Ashley of Sweet Gum Minis in SC is his breeder, and I am so very greatful she was willing to go the extra steps to ship him all the way to Az for us! At first he was very skittish, but he has quickly realized scritches on his neck feel great! |
Jelly Bean also came from Ashley in 2007. She is a second generation miniature oberhasli. I had seen pictures of her mother, and really wanted her. So I was thrilled when I found out that little Jelly Bean was for sale! Thanks again, Ashley! :) |
Starburst |
Starburst is a 2007 Nigerian Dwarf doe. Like Reeces, she has two beautiful blue eyes. We got Starburst because she kept escaping and eating expensive plants at her previous home. We're happy to have her eat our weeds ;) |
M & M |
M&M is a pygmy wether. Pygmies are roughly the same size as Nigerian Dwarves, but they are cobbier. They are a meat goat vs a dairy goat. M&M was a show wether in 4H competitions and got some first place ribbons before he came to CheyAut Ranch as a baby! |
Dragonfly |
Dragonfly is a 1st generation mini plush lop. She is Butterfly and Freckle's baby. Being 1st generation, she doesn't have the rex (plush) fur, but she has the gene to pass on to her babies. Dragonfly has both ears fully flopped now. These pictures were taken as a very young baby before the ears flopped :) New photos coming soon! |
